First Aid at Work (Blended Learning)

The First Aid at Work course is ideal for staff members working in a medium and high-risk area.

This blended course comprises of 6-hours on-line and 18-hours practical (class based) learning, and complies with the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive.

The First Aid at Work course equips the first aider with the skills required and knowledge of common health conditions, to assist a casualty if they becomes unwell or injured at work.

Course Description

The First Aid at Work is an on-line and practical course using equipment and scenarios to give the first aider confidence and the skills to cope with illness, common medical conditions or injury at work.

The topics covered in the First Aid at Work course are:

• Assessment and priorities of the situation
• The conscious and unconscious casualty
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and using the AED
• The choking casualty
• Shock and the bleeding casualty
• Managing a casualty having a seizure
• Bone, muscle and joint injuries
• Poisoning
• Managing burns
• Signs and symptoms of common medical conditions eg. Anaphylaxis, heart attack
• Record keeping and first aid equipment
