Basic Life Support & AED

3.5hr BLS & AED - 9.30am to 1.30pm

The Basic Life Support and use of a portable Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is ideal for members of public to learn basic life-saving skills.

This 3.5 hour course uses equipment and scenarios to develop and practice key skills in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of a AED in the community setting.

Course Description

The topics covered in the Basic Life Support and AED course are:

• Assessment and priorities of the situation
• The conscious and unconscious casualty
• The recovery position
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and using the AED
• The choking casualty
• Communication with emergency services
